HEARING SAFETY TIPS:

Respect Your Hearing

Hearing loss is 100% preventable. But once you lose your hearing you will never get it back. Hearing loss can creep up on us slowly, many people are unaware of the damage they have done to their hearing until it is too late.

Some symptoms of hearing loss are:

Speech sounding garbled as if the speaker’s head is in a barrel; Ringing, roaring or other constant sounds in your head; Pain and discomfort when people talk; Frustration when having conversations with you because of inability to understand.

When is Noise Harmful?

Exposure to 85 or more decibels for an average of 8 hours.

Exposure to 140 or more decibels for any period of time.

Types of Hearing Protection

Disposable earplugs expand and conform to the shape of your ear canal.

Reusable earplugs come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit different ears.

Canal caps are convenient when you are exposed to loud noises for short periods.

Earmuffs that fit over your entire ear.
